We're Home

It has been a long trip and we are all suffering from jet lag. Sophie is quite content to play all night long which would be okay if daughter #1 didn’t wake up just in time to take the second shift. We all came back with colds and assorted stomach problems. There is a major cold/flu outbreak in Beijing so it is not a surprise we came home sick. There were lots of people wearing surgical masks in Beijing in hopes of warding off the germs.

I had hoped to make more blog entries during our trip however the internet access at the hotel business centers was very expensive and extremely slow. It didn’t help that all of the menus on the computer were in Chinese. I will try and post some pictures over the next while and try to fill in the some of the holes in our trip. I also have some very interesting Beijing traffic footage that I hope to be able to post as well.

We had a very nice surprise when we arrived in Vancouver. Nana was anxiously waiting to waiting to see her new grandchild. Nana rode the bus for over an hour and waited 2 ½ hours in the airport before we finally cleared customs and immigration. Unfortunately this only left us with a short 15 minute visit before we had to head off to the south terminal to catch the next flight.

When we arrived back home Papa, Ankie Donna and our much missed daughter #1 were waiting for us at the airport. It was a tearful reunion. Our little girl seems to have grown even during the 12 days we were away. She did so well with Ankie and Papa. We are so proud of her!
