Discouraging News
We had an email from our adoption facilitator with some bad news about the wait times. It seems that for various reasons there was a major surge in applications in May and June 2005 which created a significant backlog outside the matching room. The number of paper ready adoptees remains constant however with this surge in applications the result is a longer wait time. This has happened in the past and the CCAA has corrected this by limiting the number of applications that can come from various countries. Unfortunaley we have been caught in the wrong part of this cycle and are going to have a much longer wait than expected. At the moment they are "estimating" 3 months to process the June applications and 2 months for every month after that. With our lat August LID we may not see a referral until November with travel perhaps in 2007 : -((
